Sethu Farmer Producer Co. Ltd., a Maharashtra based organization is the forerunner for manufacturing high-quality Banana Natural Fibres. In addition to manufacturing, we excel at supply, retail and wholesale of Banana Fibres, Banana Fibre Extractor, Cutters and other banana by-products. Our team of young, dynamic Agripreneurs have been committed to achieving extraordinary milestones to create opportunities for banana farmers. We have established a well-organized infrastructural set-up equipped with the latest technologies to have quality production in the industry which is aligned to international quality standards.
The increasing demand for natural fibers has created an opportunity for banana fiber, which is one of the most sustainable alternatives to cotton, due to its strength, texture and appearance. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh are leading banana growing states and with India being one of the major banana producers, resources are available in plenty. Banana farmers had to be made aware of many advantages of utilizing banana stem to its best. This motivated the inception of Sethu Farmer Producer Co. Ltd. We use excellent quality of Banana pseudo stem, carefully selected by banana farmers who are a part of our company. Our company believes in working at the grass-root level for innovation and development.
Vision
To utilize state-of-the-art technology to develop various products from the banana fibers and to make it an economically feasible business model for the farmers. We aim to reduce carbon footprint by promoting eco-friendly fibers through best possible resource management and initiate ways to reduce toxic clothing by introducing sustainable fabrics.
Mission
To be a leader in the banana fibres industry through our innovative business model – ‘Farmers Entrepreneurship’ by involving tribal, small and marginal banana growers as a part of the industry from every corner of our country. Our mission is to produce high quality banana fiber that will meet international export demand.
Objectives
Rural areas have enough potential to develop various farmer-entrepreneurship models, where every farmer can generate extra income. However, due to lack of knowledge and less awareness on technologies and demand, farmers have not been involved directly in the sector and also find it very difficult to crack the old system of middlemen. Our main objective is to work with such farmers and help in their socio-economic upliftment by generating new opportunities to them. Therefore, by collaborating with these banana farmers, a ‘farm to market’ model is being implemented where there is no interference by middle parties, thus ensuring direct fund transfer to the growers as an additional income generation programme.
